Video Blog Post | Ron and Fez Radio Show | Sirius XM Channel 202 or 197 | I Love the Show

I highly recommend you listen to the Ron and Fez radio show on Sirius XM radio. Their channel is XM 202 or Sirius 197. They are on from 11am to 3pm, Eastern Time, right after the Opie and Anthony Show

I did not expect I would want to do a video blog post about the Ron and Fez radio show, on SiriusXM. I have been a fan of the show for many years. It is one of the funniest shows I have ever heard. It is also has the most depth of any radio show on the air. The show will discuss any topic in a way that sometimes makes me think differently.

Fez’s father died last night. My condolences to Fez and his family. I decided to to a video post today, because I was very moved by Ron’s thoughts and his discussions with his callers concerning Fez and his father. The show today reminded me how much I enjoy the show.

Ron’s take on life is unique. When there is any big news in the world I make sure I listen to hear their opinions. Ron has a way of making me think differently about some issues. Fez also has very unique take on life and I never know what to expect.

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin – HCG

Please click the link below for the full story. I found myself getting frustrated as I read the article. I am sorry if I offend anyone, but people taking Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) are crazy. From the article:

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin is a substance that is produced in a woman’s body during pregnancy

Why would anyone be so desperate to take that type of substance to lose weight? There are so many better options.

The diet involves daily shots of the substance at the same time each day and a rigid 500-calorie-a-day diet.

500 calories a day? I can see the draw of losing weight quickly, but eating only 500 calories cannot be fun and it cannot see how it is healthy. I do not are how many shots I have, I would not last a morning eating only 500 calories.

Controversial Weight-Loss Diet Gaining Popularity | WBNS-10TV, Central Ohio News: “‘I was not happy with the way I was appearing with the extra weight on,’ Hoffman said.  ‘I tried Weight Watchers.  I tried the South Beach Diet.  I tried the Adkins Diet.’ (Via .)

It seems HCG tricks the mind into thinking it is full? What happens when the diet is over? The article covers this somewhat, but I guess they will gain everything back and more.

The goal of weight loss should be to maintain a healthy body for the rest of your life. The only way I will lose weight and keep it off, is if I am committed to the goal. Quick weight loss gimmicks are doomed to fail. People drawn to these types of diets are not ready to lose weight.

I started http://fatroad.com, because I am ready to stop my unhealthy lifestyle. I want to get healthy and losing fat is just a benefit of living a healthy life.

Problem Solving Steps – Deliver Apple Butter By David Powers

Last week, I posted http://lifetrumpet.com/problem-solving-steps-i-need-to-make-video-blog-posts/.

My thought, from last week, was I need to start video blogging.

How did I do? I am happy to say I made my first video. The video is for my other site http://FatRoad.com.

I am still worried about the video. I was embarrassed to take off my shirt. I was also nervous, since I had never made a video of myself. I even gave a warning about my hairy back, which was probably not needed. I still need to improve my workflow. Eventually, I hope to use a black or green background and make at least one video a day.

This week I will focus on one thought each week:

I Need to….Deliver my Apple Butter

I give away jars of apple butter, as park of my job. Here is a link for more info on apple butter:https://www.bobmccutcheon.com/newmccutcheons/indexmain.htm. The jars have my picture and information on the lid. I have 1000 jars sitting in storage. I need to get the jars delivered asap. I am somewhat of a procrastinator when it comes to apple butter. I would have had the jars delivered in early January, but I broke a toe. My toe is felling better, so I think I can manage to walk a good distance.

Hoarder | Breaking Up Forced Decluttering

TLC and A&E Television both have TV shows highlighting hoarding. I find these shows hard to watch, but I continue to watch them whenever I run across them on TV. I understand that many of the subjects of these reality shows have a mental illness. However, I get very agitated when I see people treating their possessions more importantly than their family. Like most reality shows, the hoarding shows will eventually disappear. Though, it will always be an issue for many people.

My ex-girlfriend occasionally accused me of being a hoarder. Her garage was full of my stuff.  I never took her seriously. I always thought she was overreacting. After we broke up I had the unfortunate job of removing my things from her home. I moved to a extended stay hotel and rented a storage garage. After my move I realized that it was possible by girlfriend was not overreacting. I had too much stuff.

Staying in the studio hotel’s is cheaper than renting a one-bedroom apartment in the Washington DC area. The hotel room is small;  it has a TV, microwave, cooktop, refrigerator and a queen-size bed.  Soon after I moved into the hotel room I decided it was time to de-clutter. Most of my possessions were at the storage garage, a few miles from my hotel. Over a three week period I began to throw away or give away items. It was difficult. I had to seriously think:

“why am I holding on to this possession?”

There were times I would save something one week and later decide I really did not need that possession.

I’m proud to say that except for two bikes and marketing items I use for my job, my storage garage is three quarters of its original size. I still have some electronic possessions that I’m hoarding. I love technology and gadgets. Eventually, I will convince myself that I don’t need three laptops or three LCD monitors. I’m happy to say that I’m living comfortably in a one bed hotel room.

A Healthy Lifestyle | How Do I Lose Weight After 40 and Beyond

I enjoyed reading this article and found it helpful. It has some very good tips on eating enough fiber and getting enough sleep. As we aged it is harder to lose weight and maintain muscle mass.

Family Videos | Take Videos and Pictures Often

I wish I had videos of my family when I was younger. My family only has one video. Sadly, I do not think there are any videos of my brothers and sisters when we were younger.

The first clip shows my mom holding me and then cuts to my aunt and uncle. It’s is cool that I can see my four grandparents together. My dad is the one in the white shirt and black tie. The end of the clip shows me with two of my cousins, my mom and aunt.

Take video your family often, not just photos. I only have 1 family video & wish I had more.

Procrastinator | How I am Trying to Overcome Art of Procrastination

I’m safe to say that procrastination is something many people deal with in their daily lives. Some of us are very good at putting stuff off. One of my new categories on http://LifeTrumpet.com is Procrastinator.
Procrastinator is not a positive sounding word. It is accusatory. It is what I occasionally become.

Some of procrastination issues are controlled by fear and laziness. I will put off some things off, because I’m scared that I cannot complete the goal.  At other times, I just don’t want to do the project. I’m either too tired or not interested. Sometimes, we do not have control over projects that are facing us in everyday life. Life is full of errands. We need to mow the lawn, pay bills and go grocery shopping. These are items many of us find boring. However, not mowing the lawn could lead to citation. Not paying bills could cause financial ruin. Not buying healthy food will lead to buying fast food.

Everything, I said above is true, but what are two of the biggest reasons? I am disorganized and I do not delegate. I am an independent contractor. I am supposed to pay quarterly taxes to the IRS. I rarely pay quarterly and end up paying a fine every year. Why do I wait? I have not scanned my receipts and I do not have the proper forms, etc. I do not want to procrastinate, but I do not have a plan top help the project forward. I file my own tax returns. I should delegate that task. Why have I not delegated the task? I am disorganized. I am afraid I will hire someone and not have all the information available. It comes back to not having a proper system in place.
How do I develop plans to stop procrastination? I will discuss this topic more in future posts.

Problem Solving Steps – I Need to Make Video Blog Posts

Last week, I posted http://lifetrumpet.com/i-really-should-start-video-blog-posts-and-solve-my-gtd-problems-week-3/ , which covered stuff I have been meaning to do, but have put off.

The two thoughts, from last week, were starting to video blog and get better at Getting Things Done. I did not start a video blog, but I did work some on GTD.

I am changing my plan, somewhat. I am dropping the two thoughts and will focus on one thought each week:

I Need to….

I found that my two categories, of “I Really Should” and “What Problem am I Trying to Solve” were too similar. I am keeping the white board, but I will just write “I need to”, each week.

The goal of the white board is not to start a project. The idea is to kick-start a nagging thought I have been putting off. I am a procrastinator, at times. The board is there to remind me everyday to start the nagging thought.

This week’s thought is the same one from last week:

I need to make video blog posts, for some of my websites.

Why did I procrastinate last week:

1. I do not want to use a webcam. I have two good camcorders, but I have not set them up properly.

2. My 17 inch MacBook Pro is running very slow. Today, I reformatted the hard drive and it is much faster.

I need to be careful that I am not being a perfectionist, when it comes to the videos. I just need to start and not worry too much on how I look, or the quality of the videos.
